Job Title: Executive Director of the Mayfield Graves Co. Parks and Recreation
Location: Mayfield, KY
Position Type: Part-time

Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as the part-time Executive Director of Parks and Recreation for the Mayfield Graves County Parks. As the primary steward of our combined community’s recreational and green spaces, the Executive Director will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by overseeing the planning, development, and management of parks, recreational facilities, and programming.

Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership:
◦ Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for parks and recreation in alignment with the community’s needs and goals.
◦ Provide visionary leadership to the department, ensuring a forward-thinking approach to recreation and park management.

2. Operational Management:
◦ Oversee the day-to-day operations of parks and recreational facilities, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
◦ Collaborate with department heads to set and achieve performance metrics, continuously improving operational efficiency.

3. Community Engagement:
◦ Foster strong community relationships by engaging with residents, local organizations, and stakeholders to understand their needs and preferences.
◦ Collaborate with department heads to develop and implement outreach programs to encourage community involvement in recreational activities.

4. Program Development:
◦ Lead the development and enhancement of a diverse range of recreational programs for all age groups and demographics.
◦ Explore innovative and inclusive programming to meet the evolving interests of the community.

5. Facility Development and Maintenance:
◦ Collaborate with the city and county on the planning, design, and maintenance of parks and recreational facilities.
◦ Collaborate with department heads as they consult architects, contractors, and landscape designers to ensure the development of safe, accessible, and environmentally sustainable spaces.

6. Budget Management:
◦ Develop and manage the MGC Parks budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and resource optimization.
◦ Seek and secure grants, and collaborate with department heads to secure sponsorships, and partnerships to enhance funding opportunities in partnership with the department heads.

7. Staff Development:
◦ Recruit, train, and lead a diverse team of professionals, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
◦ Encourage professional development and growth opportunities for staff members.

Qualifications:
• Proven leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of best practices in community engagement.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans and achieve measurable results.
• Financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
• Commitment to fostering inclusivity and diversity in parks and recreation programming.

Notice is hereby given that the Graves County Fiscal Court will accept sealed bids for:
The Construction of a Pavilion at the Kess Creek Soccer Park located beside the YMCA

50’ x 80’ Pavilion                Concrete floor
Mechanical Room                29-gauge metal ceiling
Utility Room                    PVC wrapped posts
2 Bathrooms                    26-gauge metal roof
10’ Ceiling                    Split face block walls

Turn key project which is to include plumbing, electrical, etc.
Partial retainer wall around building.
List of last 3 projects to use as references.

All bids shall exclude Federal, State, and Local Taxes

ALL LICENSES, PERMITS, AND ANY OTHER FEES ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR

A start and completion date must be included in the bid packet.

There will be a pre bid meeting on June 20, 2024 at 9 a.m. at the building site, Kess Creek Soccer Park, beside the YMCA.  Anyone interested on bidding and would have questions please attend the pre bid meeting.

All sealed bids must be received in the office of the Graves County Judge Executive Jesse Perry, 1102 Paris Road, Suite 2, Mayfield, Ky 42066 before 10 am on June 27, 2024, at which time the sealed bids will be opened and read.
